Villa de Zoysa, Sri Lanka
by Emma at Bonjoursunset
Over the past few years, yoga has become quite the popular thing to do in Sri Lanka! And that makes sense since the country is perfect for a relaxing and detoxing time: beautiful nature, abundant wildlife, a mostly vegetarian cuisine, and the practice of ancient Ayurvedic medicinal traditions. Villa de Zoysa is located on the East cost of Sri Lanka, 120 km south of Colombo.
This beautiful white colonial house sits in a lush garden, with a pool and an open-air yoga shala. They offer yoga classes every morning, and every afternoon in the shala or on the beach just across the road. During the day, yogis can go to the beach, learn to surf, explore the fort city of Galle, or simply relax on the house’s sunny patio. Teachers from all around the world rotate here every few weeks, offering a variety of yoga styles.
The local chef prepares the most delicious Sri Lankan breakfasts and dinners, both served around a large communal dining table. A massage room is also available on site if you are keen to try Ayurvedic therapy. Single accommodation is 75 EUR per night, while double is 120 EUR, including two yoga sessions per day, breakfast and dinner. Villa de Zoysa is the perfect place to add to your Sri Lanka itinerary if you need a lot of rest and relaxation.
